I read an article from 1889 while researching bison movements and ran into something interesting, it said “Old plainsmen have told him that the Cherokee Indians tried this experiment and abandoned it years ago.” They were talking about CJ Jones trying to cross bison with cattle in Kansas. I thought it was interesting that they had a bison herd or a single animal.
